'A happening California winery.  Merryvale Vineyards is an outstanding Napa
Valley winery that just keeps getting better.  Owner Jack W. Schlatter and
winemaker Stephen Test are crafting some seriously beautiful wines at this
winery in St. Helena.  I sat down with Steve Test recently to taste some
upcoming releases and was very impressed...  Merryvale is also making one of
Napa's best merlots -- the velvety 1998 Reserve Merlot is lush and intense
with lovely ripe plum and berry fruit...  The Merryvale wines are
distinctive on the shelf, too -- look for the labels with a triangular notch
cut at the top.'
