California Supreme Court: "Napa" Really Means Napa

The industry chatter around the water cooler last week was on the California Supreme Court ruling that requires wines with the name "Napa" in their brand names and labels to be produced from grapes grown in Napa Valley. This is a "truth in advertising" victory for consumers; some wineries were using misleading labeling. Now you can be assured wines with "Napa" on the label have been grown in our wonderful, vibrant valley that you have come to know. This ruling requires that wines labeled with the Napa Valley distinction must source at least 75% of their fruit from Napa Valley.
