Clos Du Bois Unveils Dry Creek Valley Reserve Zinfandel
GEYSERVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- Clos du Bois Winery's continuing exploration
of the unique terroir found within the sub-appellations of Sonoma County
is at the heart of its latest wine release.
Exceptional wine quality, derived from hand-selected grapes grown in the
Dry Creek Valley is the key ingredient in the new Clos du Bois 1999 Dry
Creek Valley Appellation Reserve Series Zinfandel. The wine establishes
a new benchmark of excellence for Zinfandel.
"With the release of our new Dry Creek Valley Reserve wine, we are able
to focus on one or two choice vineyards within an AVA (American
Viticultural Area) noted for intense, flavor-packed Zinfandel," Clos
du
Bois Winemaker Margaret Davenport tells HappyHours.com. "The specific
grape characteristics found in the soils and the microclimates of the
Dry Creek Valley are what give these grapes their peppery, blackberry
flavor. Our goal at Clos du Bois is to capture that intensity in each
bottle of wine."
In addition to the debut of a 1999 Dry Creek Valley Reserve Zinfandel,
Clos du Bois will be unveiling a 2000 Russian River Valley Reserve Pinot
Noir next March. Plans are underway to showcase other Sonoma County AVA
districts, with selected vineyards from the Carneros and Knight's Valley
regions being considered.
