auctions, and a wine consultant to some of the wealthiest residents of
Houston.

Melba Allen-Mauviel
A native Houstonian who has
been living in France for the past 12 years, Melba Allen-Mauviel earned
her Diploma of Sommelier Conseil from the Université du Vin of
Suze-la-Rousse in the Rhône Valley. She is now the Director of the new
Wine Institute at the Culinary Institute Alain & Marie LeNôtre in Houston.
Melba is also the only American member of the Union des Sommeliers de
France.

Considered one of the most knowledgeable
and accomplished oenophiles in the world, this Houston oilman's collection
of rare and fine wines was declared by Michael Broadbent of Christie's as
being "the finest and rarest anywhere."
