Kendall-Jackson Offers Online Wedding Wine Planner

Santa Rosa, Calif. (February 1, 2001) - The cake's been ordered, the
bridesmaids have finally settled on the color and style of their dresses
and the band's been hired, but how much wine do you plan on for the
reception?
Kendall-Jackson Winery has the answer to that question and many
more wine related topics in a unique interactive Wedding Wine Planner &
Gift Registry found on the web at http://www.kj.com/wedding/.  A direct
link to the planner can be found on the winery homepage at KJ.com.
"We've noticed an increase in the number of questions about wedding
wines in our emails, on our toll-free customer service line, and in letters
and cards we receive at the winery nearly every day," said Susan Sueiro,
Director of Internet Development for Kendall-Jackson.  "The more we talked,
the more we realized that wine is often one of the last things people think
about when planning a wedding, even though it's one of the most important
items in making a lasting impression on that special day," she added.  "In
the end, people are grateful for anything that reduces the stress of
wedding planning."
Sueiro gathered KJ's culinary and winemaking staffs, sought advice
from local wedding planners and devised a simple to use Wedding Wine
planner for the website.  By providing basic information about the number
of guests, menu items, style of the wedding, time of day and related items,
the planner suggests wines that pair with the menu, along with suggested
amounts of both red and white varietals, along with detailed information
about the wines.
Since wine is often given as a gift at weddings, along with such
wine related items as stemware, the KJ Wedding Planner includes a Gift
Registry where couples can list accessories and wines they would like to
receive.  The Registry works well for couples who would like to grow their
wine collection, or who may have already outfitted their homes with
traditional wedding gifts.   Sample registries, such as the "Cellar
Starter" or the "Instant Wine Library" provide suggestions and guidance.
A message board allows visitors to leave notes for those planning to attend
the wedding, and emails can be sent to guests notifying them of the
couple's Gift Registry.
Wine, where legal, can be ordered on the website at the KJ.com wine
store.  Accessories and party favors for guests are also suggested for
shipment to all 50 states. Sueiro says she is still getting mail, including
some from happy couples who share stories and wedding photos, saying they
have found the wedding planner to be one of the most helpful tools around.
Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates produces a broad portfolio of premium
wines focused on hillside and coastal growing regions in California, South
America and Italy.  Along with Kendall-Jackson, which features Collage®,
Vintner's Reserve®, Grand Reserve, Great Estates™ and Stature™ wines, KJWE
offers Camelot and Pepi with California appellations, Sonoma County's La
Crema Winery, Villa Arceno from Tuscany, Italy and South American wineries
Calina, from Chile, and Tapiz, from Argentina.
